In 1996, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed November 21st as World Television Day, to recognize the increasing impact of Television and its power to educate, to inform, to entertain, to foster democracy, to encourage freedom of speech, and to contribute to innovation.
Each year RTÉ joins with broadcasters from across Europe to support World Television Day, running activities on and off-air to help promote the power of Television.
This year RTÉ will build on these activities to deliver an Irish and European ‘Broadcasting First’ via an exciting TV Ad Break Innovation.
To promote the consistent strength of TV as an advertising medium, a series of four bespoke AD Breaks will air on RTÉ One on World TV Day, Saturday November 21st.
In each break, Eoghan McDermott will give us an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Group M, Core Media, Vizeum, Carat and of course RTÉ TV Sales – all of the people who help bring TV Ad Campaigns to our screens!
So celebrate with us, and tune in for these four special breaks, on-air from just before RTÉ’s Nine News, and then throughout The Ray D’Arcy Show on Saturday November 21st.
